POSITION SUMMARY:

This position offers the right person a unique opportunity to be a key financial influencer & strategic business partner for a NUSA customer team managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of revenue, facilitating key decisions related to sales and trade funds with a focus on ensuring profitable growth and adequate return on promotional investment.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide financial oversight including detailed event level planning, promotional spend review, forecasting, reporting, and ad-hoc customer analysis, with an emphasis on maintaining sound financial controls around trade budget spending. This will require someone who is comfortable digesting large amounts of data and can use both art and science to convert it into actionable insights for the organization. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with at least 3-5 years of experience in CPG or a relevant field that has transferable examples of how they can influence and drive results. The successful individual will be highly collaborative in a cross functional environment and exemplify key behaviors such as: digital curiosity and progress over perfection. The successful individual will have a strong finance or accounting background, superior communication and people skills, ability to learn quickly, a solid understanding of Nestlé (or another CPG business), managerial courage and the ability to deliver high performance work both within a team and independently. 

 

How you will make an impact:

The position is instrumental in maintaining control of NPS, trade spend, NNS, and evaluating & driving overall efficiency of trade plans. The Key Performance indicators are sales volume, real internal growth, organic growth, trade, sales contribution, and promotional trade efficiency.  The key quality indicators are trade management, forecasting, deduction management and strategic business partnering. 

 

AREAS OF FOCUS

* Work proactively with Category Account Managers (CAM) during annual planning, ensuring alignment with Commercial Action Plans and ROI thresholds for promotions.
* Ensure the accuracy of events in Osprey and review plan adjustments as needed throughout the year.
* Meet with CAMs/ Sales Director to understand variances to goals, on both sales and trade. Communicate results and work with CAMs to develop solutions for driving sales or for adjusting trade activities to ensure goals are met.
* Lead monthly business review meetings with the CAMs to ensure successful trade management and optimization of trade. This will include analytical review of monthly/annual forecasts and promotional plan performance - leading to objective, timely and fact-based communication of volume/trade opportunities and gaps to the Divisions.
* Support governance and compliance to trade program policies.
* Drive usage and adoption of promotional trade efficiency tools. Partner with CAM and SRM team to propose actionable solutions to drive more efficient trade spend and adjustments to promotion plan based on historical data.
* Propose actionable solutions to business challenges by performing root cause analysis to identify and quantify value creation opportunities.
* Work closely with CAMs to understand consumption data and identify base and incremental volume trends and their impact on financial performance.
* Help with process improvements across Revenue Growth Management.

 

 

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:

* College degree required; Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required.
* 3-5 years revenue growth management and/or finance management experience in Consumer Goods company/industry preferred.
* Intermediate/Advanced in Excel and SAP (or other ERP System) required.
* Previous experience with Sales Finance/RGM and trade fund management a plus
* Position will be located in the Solon OH or Arlington VA Nestle Corporate Offices
* Travel estimated up to 15% (planning sessions/business reviews/ RGM team meetings/ customer team meetings)

* Superior execution skills in a changing environment and ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Strong data management and analytical skills, and critically important to be able to deliver the message to non-finance professionals.
* Proven ability to not only deliver, but drive excellent work in a team and matrix organization
* Excellent inter-personal communication and the ability to influence others; negotiation skills a plus.
* Self-starter and shows initiative and quickly learns the specifics of the customer and revenue growth management.
* Ability to drive change
* Critical thinking/ Curiosity
* Strong Business acumen
* Understanding of Customer Profitability concepts and the use of customer P&Ls to drive business decisions.
